Polytechnic Sultan Ibrahim (formerly known as Polytechnic Johor Bahru)
opened its doors to students in July 1998 in Kuala Lumpur Technical
School before moving to its permanent campus in June 1998. Planning
early establishment of Polytechnic Sultan Ibrahim began in 1991 with an
effort to identify a suitable site in the area of Johor Bahru. Palm oil
plantation of 100 acres of Lot 1957, Mukim Plentong, Johor Bahru
District has finally chosen as a suitable ground conditions and the
close proximity to the industrial area of Pasir Gudang.
